Worrell,
Durrett and Jaynes, P.C.
was founded in 1991 to provide complex litigation services
to the growing population of Colorado's Western Slope. At
the time local residents, businesses, and out-of-state litigants
seeking redress in Western Slope judicial districts had few
options for beyond seeking distant and expensive attorneys
in Denver and on the Front Range.
Stephen
Worrell, who began his practice in 1972, had already enjoyed
success in Greeley, Colorado litigating several high-profile
contingency fee cases. Anthony Durrett had been practicing
law in Glenwood Springs since 1980. Ken Jaynes had worked
as an assistant district attorney locally and in other Colorado
counties for the better part of a decade. Both Mr. Worrell
and Mr. Durrett grew up in Glenwood Springs, and both come
from long-time, established area families.
Together
the founding partners created the firm to provide complex
litigation and contingency fee services to the Western Slope,
offering unique and unparalleled experience in complex litigation
on a local level. When
Dave Griffith retired from active practice of law in 2006,
the firm assumed its current name of Worrell, Durrett &
Jaynes, P.C. Associate Robert Gavrell joined the firm in 2007.
